The Wiregrass Blues Society Band

The WBS is looking to the future of the organization. We intend to have a house band on an annual retainer to play as needed. This band will be useful to the stability of the organization’s annual operations. 

Dave Adkins (keyboard, rhythm guitar) – Dave has been playing music professionally since the 1960s. His brother, our 2016 Honoree, John Rainey Adkins helped launch Dave’s career. Dave is a talented multi-instrumentalist. He played in Beaverteeth, BJ Thomas, Billy Joel Royal and was featured on Wolfman Jack’s Midnight Special.

Marcus Hart (bass) – Marcus has played with several musicians in the Alabama Music Hall of fame. He has dedicated his life to teaching music to children and will retire as the band director at Ft. Rucker Elementary in Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Tony Staffiero (saxophone) – Tony is a multi-instrumentalist jazz musician and composer. Tony trained as a teenager with our 2020 Honoree and saxophonist Jay Scott. Tony graduate from Loyola University in New Orleans, Lousiana with a degree in Jazz Theory and music education. Tony has played all over the country and internationally with Colonel Bruce Hampton, Atlanta Funk Society, Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics, 4th Ward Afro Klexmer Orchastra, and others. Rony is a professional studio and touring musician.

John Seals (drums) – John is a drummer and record producer. He has played with Thick from LA, Cold Cranking Amps, and the Rutlands. He has produced over 300 records including Sunset Black and Jordis Unga. John has a long history working on various projects with the WBS that include sound mastering and film production.
