Get Involved
There are so many ways to be part of the Wiregrass Blues Society! From joining us at our quarterly programming and Blues in Schools initiatives, to volunteering at our annual Wiregrass Blues Festival, your involvement helps us carry the torch of this rich musical tradition. We also welcome donations of new or gently used instruments, which go directly into the hands of underprivileged young people who dream of playing the blues. Together, we can preserve the past, inspire the present, and build a brighter future through music.
Make A Difference
Your support truly makes a difference. By getting involved with the Wiregrass Blues Society, you’re not just attending an event or donating an instrument—you’re helping change lives. A guitar in the hands of a young person can spark a lifelong passion, while the energy of our programs can inspire people of all ages to discover the power of the blues. Every hour volunteered, every ticket purchased, and every contribution given helps motivate, uplift, and keep this music alive for generations to come.
Our Founder
The Wiregrass Blues Society was founded by Ken Johnson, whose passion for the blues and dedication to preserving its legacy sparked a movement in our community. Ken believed that the blues is more than music—it’s a story of resilience, culture, and connection that deserves to be shared with future generations. Through his vision, the WBS continues to grow and thrive. With your support, we can carry on his mission to keep the blues alive in the Wiregrass area—bringing people together, inspiring new audiences, and ensuring this rich heritage lives on.
